I am having the same laggy issues as well. One instance of Serum 2 running and it lags when I play any audio. Just spent the $250 just to be a little heartbroken that is causes my system to lag. I hope a new update will be released soon, I will end up trying to get a refund if it continues to be a problem. Just got a new laptop setup and everything has been running insanely smooth. this was a bummer for me. although ive heard nothing but good things about the serum team so i have trust they will fix it!

I found the only thing that helped is going into the GLOBAL tab on each instance of Serum 2 and changing quality Ultra to Good.

This actually fixed the issue for me. I still can't imagine that this would need to be done on higher end systems if there wasn't something wrong with this release. Maybe they will fix the issue in the next release. Thanks for the tip.

serum 2 is not worth the money the company has stopped giving a crap. Serum 1 is excellent. I wish i had paid for something else so disappointed in its performance. A plugin that can do alot of things means absolutely nothing if it cannot perform like its 1st. they should have just kept the old version serum 1 and kept improving it. Serum 2 is poo. Great plugin for what it can do but nothing great is worth it if it cannot perform.

Trying to use Serum 2 in Ableton and it overloads very easily, crackling and breaking up into silence. A preset that does it pretty quickly on is Acoustic Modelled Waterphorium, but others do it too. This is on an empty project.

Using the exact same set up in Fender Studio Pro and there doesn't seem to be the same issue.

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor (4.20 GHz)
64.0 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (16 GB)
AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (486 MB)
Fender AudioBox Go (ASIO)

@NulEnvoid have you tried reaching out to Ableton support? The fact that the same Serum 2 preset does not overload Fender Studio Pro suggests it could be a problem with Live (or its compatibility with your ASIO driver.)

With my Intel i9-12900K I can push INST - Acoustic Modelled Waterphorium to 26 polyphony voices of without audio dropouts.
That's with a single instance of Serum 2 in Live 12.3.
