Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've used Ableton and Serum, and I'm currently working with the latest version, 12 and 2 respectively. I switch between my PC at the office and my MacBook at home/on the go. To keep everything synced, I use the "Collect All and Save" feature and store the project on OneDrive. This setup has worked well—samples and third-party plugins save and load correctly across devices, except for Serum 2.
The issue is that when I open the project on my Mac, Serum 2 loads with the correct preset name, but the sound resets to the default "Init" patch. This doesn't happen with other third-party plugins.
Is this a known bug? In the past, when I've used remake projects from others, the Serum presets always loaded with the correct sound. Am I missing a step here?
I am having the same issue. I've found that going into serums menu and selecting 'revert to saved' has been re-loading the right preset. However now im tasked with the issue of having to do that individually to every instance of serum, throughout all of my sessions.. Quite annoying. This has only happened since upgrading to windows 11
Same issue here… must be a bug… Serum team, please fix this…
If Serum 2 loads with the correct preset name but the default "Init" patch, the issue is that the session was saved with a more recent version of Serum 2 than the one you are loading the session with.
Serum 2 is not forward compatible - it cannot load data saved by more recent versions.
If you are opening projects on multiple computers, please ensure they all have the same version of Serum 2 installed.
Version 2.0.19 (May release) added an error message for this scenario. Unfortunately earlier versions don't have this message, it sounds like you have one of these earlier versions installed on at least one of your computers.
