Switching from Mac to Windows 10

Hey Steve!

So after 14 years of being on mac I am making the jump to windows 10. I'm having a really big issue and although it pertains to any AU/VST plugin, I use Serum as my main synth hence why I am posting here. Many of the sessions I am transferring were made using VST versions of serum but there are a lot that were done using AU versions. (you can see where this is going). When I open them obviously I get all kinds of errors telling me that AU is not supported, my question is other than going into each session on my mac, saving the patches and replacing them with VST versions…… is there any kind of work-around? The other issue is if I do this on my mac, unless I duplicate the track with a VST version of Serum and copy each automation lane to the VST version, just simply replacing the AU with a VST version and loading the saved patch will wipe my automation lanes. This seems like a shit ton of work (Considering there are 100's of sessions to transfer) Any help is much appreciated.

This is why I tend to suggest to use the VST Version. I'm afraid don't have much insight to add, besides this is an "Ableton issue" (or you lacked the foresight when using AU Plugins) and this is not specific to Serum in any way. Perhaps it would save time to remove the AU plugin completely and then open every project and log where it is used, so at least you'll be on the warpath.
